We already mentioned that we pay special attention to bathrooms. If you analyze entire apartment, these are the interiors requiring the biggest money investment per square meter. Some of you may ask is that really the case. Well, you need to consider the fact that usually all of bathroom walls are finished with tiles and their prices can really vary depending on design, country of origin and size. On top of that, you need to install ceramic sanitary elements and durable fittings. All of that can get pricy if you look for a good quality or you really want something trendy.

Speaking about trends, we see them come and go. Exactly for this reason, we propose to our Clients to invest in materials that are timeless and blend them with some of their absolute favorite selections. In small bathrooms, which is the case of most of apartments (less frequently in one-family houses); a great option is to go with a light-toned large tile. It not only makes the space visually bigger, but also; when contrasted with warmer color; results in a very balanced visual composition. This family bathroom in Grzegórzki is a perfect example of this symbiosis represented by whitish Tau Ceramics and stunning Flaviker wood alike tile.

Beautiful materials can stand on their one, but as long as we design for people, we prioritize functionality. This is how we came up with Ventana Sur rules for bathroom design that we try to follow: 1. If it’s intimate or not that aesthetical per se, it should not stand out; 2. Emphasize what’s beautiful 3. It’s not the first time we work in Grzegórzki area, yet it’s the first instance we have been asked to design an apartment so close to one of the major landmarks of Cracow, Tauron Arena! What’s more, we are designing not one, but two homes in the same real estate investment. Today we would like to invite you to tour a kitchen from the first of these projects where we blended modern aesthetics with some truly dark tones.

Our goal here was to combine specific Clients’ functionality expectations with their absolute preference for black and grey color palette.  When it comes to the latter one, we opted for dark matt finishing for cabinet fronts lightened up by oak wood elements. The cherry on top is the backsplash – grey herringbone tile form Country line of @equipeceramicas. As for functionality, one of non-typical priorities was to secure a designated space for coffee aficionados. We love how geometry of furniture plays in this nook!

No modern kitchen is complete without high-end and durable appliances. In this space, we went for a sleek wall unit that encompasses built-in fridge, microwave and Samsung Dual Cook oven. This type of solution not only looks sophisticated, but also ensures that kitchen design is not intrusive when being part of open floor plan.

When arranging apartments many people focus on bathrooms and kitchens. Naturally, there are some solid arguments to do so. Firstly, bathroom finishing is considered the most expensive per sqm. Secondly, we use kitchens a lot and its design has to be 100% functional, especially when your space is limited. In such context, living room often gets underestimated and tend to receive minimal attention. Yet, from our experience we can tell you, it should be all the opposite!

When we ask our Clients to tell us about how much use they give to specific spaces and what kind of feelings they have towards them, very often we hear they spend time mostly in their living room. They also often say that after a hard day of work, this interior should make them feel chilled and entertained. What it means in practice? In some projects, we will focus on a reading nook; but in a vast majority, we will prioritize a space with a comfortable sofa where one can cool down with a good movie. In this design, we were after a sectional made for those who really need some rest without losing an elegant character. There are plenty of well-priced options in the market, but for those who want to invest in quality, we recommend checking out 50-year old Belgian brand Rom specializing in beautiful premium furniture.

On the opposite wall, we wanted to place a TV in a strategic spot, yet in such a way it would blend with the rest of the space. A custom-made furniture was an ideal solution as it also gave a possibility to secure some extra storage and expose a book collection. The entire unit received a   modern touch with light grey fronts and wooden laths on the right side.

When you are about to become parents, everything changes. It’s one of the biggest life revolutions and it is also reflected in how you use your home. The truth is the sooner you start arranging space for the newborn, the better. But don’t worry, it does not have to be difficult! Below you will find 3 easy steps to create a modern nursery ideal to spend time with your princess or prince.

First, start with a color palette. There’s a sort of convention to use pinks for girls and blues for boys. Yet, a modern design and, quite frankly, your personality can question such well-worn patterns. You can definitely opt for some neutral colors, such as whites and greys and decide on supplemental or accent color. In this project, we went with a classical light blue which was a perfect match for our Clients and hopefully their baby boy.

Secondly, think about functionality. First months require lots of time spend on nursing, diaper changes and, fortunately, baby’s sleep. Think about comfortable furniture to meet these needs. On the other hand, remember that these evolve in relatively short time and a nursery becomes a toddler’s room where she/he mostly plays and you store all of his (multiplying) belongings. That is why, do not go into obsession of filling every little corner of the room with an object. Leave empty space, a big rug to play and some functional cabinets, such as these Ikea’s Stuva line. For smaller and everyday items, get some practical and pretty baskets. There’s a wide variety of them available in Allegro as well as stationary shops.

Last, but not least, give it a bold statement. A simple room becomes a baby’s kingdom with fun pieces such as a distinctive lamp or a 3d name description. We also encourage you to do something unique with one wall. You can select an adorable wallpaper or even try to paint something yourself with help of YT tutorials. In Mateo’s room we opted for wallpaper with cute animals from tapetuj.pl and his beautiful name placed just above the cradle.

Many of our clients are foreigners who decide to settle down in Cracow. They come from different places but all of them share a dream to create a personalized space where their personality and likes are reflected. Today we will show you how we approached a project where kitchen is a true command center of home.

Ventana Sur Studio comes across many new-built apartments. The majority of them is of a reasonable size, yet often does not enable to include all of the elements, which you normally would fit into a house. Our clients as absolute cooking and get-together lovers wished to have a full size table and a kitchen island. Unfortunately, the space we counted with was not sufficient for both of these items. In response, we proposed this “living table” concept – a kitchen island that functions as a massive countertop while at the same time acts as a large table to host dinners.

When you cook a lot, not only you need space to prepare all the goodies, but also to store all the kitchen appliances as well as food products. We replaced a typical U-shape pantry by customized open and closed shelves, which go along the walls. Behind cabinet doors our Clients can also hide some items which are used in their adjacent organic garden such as extra plates, pitchers, pots and textiles. This is a truly multifunctional kitchen in the lovely neighborhood of Dębniki!

Minimalist furniture very often attract our eyes. But, let’s be honest – when you live with your family, you really need some storage space and this also applies to bathroom. This week we want to show you how we arranged a large interior to be shared by a family of 4.

At Ventana Sur Studio we always take time to listen, listen and once again listen to our Clients. Ultimately, they will live in the spaces we design and exactly this is why we really want to accommodate their needs. Our owners had a defined aesthetic tastes while always emphasized their interiors had to be truly practical. The first step for us was to create a designated space for all the items that are normally stored in a bathroom. For this purpose, we designed spacious cabinets to fit towels, hygienic essentials and cosmetics. Basin unit also plays its part and hides an all in one combo washer dryer.

This space was also ideal for one of our favorite actors in interiors – mosaic tiles. These days there’s such an abundance of choice that you may feel overwhelmed. Simple tip from Ventana Sur Studio is to go with your heart! If you fell in love with some ceramics form the first sight; yet have doubts how they will look like in your interior; a hyperrealistic 3d visualization can help you out in making your final decision. Do you remember our globetrotter couple and their beautiful Spa She and He bathroom? Well, the dream continues and takes us to their kitchen. In this interior design we had to look at the entire floor plan and ultimately decided on placing it where we used to have a dining area.

When it comes to style, it was clear we had to play smoothly with two elements: log house construction and north-American origin of our Clients. We wanted to keep the original character of the building yet blend it with what we love the most from American kitchen aesthetics, i.e. open floor plan and huge island.

At Ventana Sur Studio we work with great local carpenters who can turn our furniture designs into reality with admirable precision. For this specific interior, we partnered with experts in the field @Elen Meble with over 25 years of experience in the business.

The time has come! You get your keys to a new apartment and everything looks pretty standard until…you get to measure the space. Sometimes it turns out what was supposed to be a 4,5 sqm bathroom ends up in 4,3 and this really makes a difference. This was the case of this project. Very early on, we found out that only with precise measurements we could fit what was essential and decide on nice-to-haves of our Clients.

Exactly for this reason, we always recommend to confirm the actual size of rooms on-site. Only this way you can select a specific washing machine with a dryer and a custom built cabinet to fit it into.

However, is there any way to gain extra cm in a reduced space? Of course, interior design professionals have some well-studied options in hand! Big mirrors are definitely at the top of the list, but remember that ideally you should get there a reflection of something visually attractive.  In a small bathroom, it can be a bathtub area accentuated with original tiles. We really love how we obtained this effect with glossy ceramics from Spanish Equipe brand. Not only they “add extra cm” with their shine, but also create a mosaic with their natural imperfections.

Almost a 100-year old house and a family of 5. Among them, two princesses with very defined tastes. It’s such an experience to work with children. Firstly because you really need to try to meet up to their expectations (they will let you know quickly if you nailed it!). Secondly, you need to consider practical observations of parents and how they see the functionality of a designated space.

Here the goal was a harmonious interior design for two young individuals and a furniture that could last for a couple of years. Although we love custom-built and/or vintage furniture, we think Ikea has some great pieces that can fit into kids room. Look at these Busunge beds that can in fact work throughout entire life of our children. For storage, the most popular option (and for a reason!) is Kallax line which with simple hacks can include also first desk area.

Another must-have element in such spaces are accent walls. The easiest way is to paint one with a selected color. If you are worried about how it turns out, simply get some samples and try them out on cardboard placed on the designated wall. It’s important to see how the light operates and if a more delicate tone wouldn’t be a better option. If you are not afraid of color, you can play even with two walls. Here we did it by mixing paint with a wallpaper, both having in common a generic palette of the room. We think it brought a lot of harmony to the space as well as symmetrical beds for the girls.

We often crave what we do not have, yet not always is what we need. Some may sleep in a busy waiting area, others need a truly silent place to relax and dive into good sleep. We realized that in this project, where actually what you cannot see is what makes this bedroom unique and custom-made. Behind an elegant wallpaper, we placed professional acoustic panels from Apama to keep this space well isolated from any potential external sounds.

The size of the room also enabled Ventana Sur Studio to include some personalized solutions. On the main wall what really stand out are the over-sized elements of headboard and these ultra-modern Nowodvorski lamps. If you look opposite, you get into a massive custom-made wardrobe where we could even fit a home office nook!
